EZUZ 2016.

Sun rise in the Negev

Shlomo welcomes you in the Garden.

And Shlomo says bye!

The "bustan" is flowering.

And finally the FLOOD!

The dam constructed  to direct the water from the "wady" to the Orchard.

the water is jumping from orchard 1 to orchard 2 then 3 then 4.
The level of water is 20cm for each orchard, to not drown the trees.

the water is just below the tree's trunks.

the water will remain 3 days on the surface then slowly goes down underground.
Hopefully the trees will learn how to grow their roots in order to reach that undergroud water, for at least few months.
That system had been used by the Nabatheans, thousands years ago
and a rock that looks like a frog.
the desert is suddenly alive!

*********
Working is hard under the heavy sun but it is essential, particularly if the agriculture is 100% organic.
It is physically exhausting but mentally fulfilling.
It is so rewarding after planting, sowing, watering, weeding, harvesting to finally cook and eat some healthy and rich vegetables and fruits.

Tamar is the most courageous, hard working, optimist and kind woman I have ever met.

Julia (from Germany), a volunteer among the olive trees.

Louie (from Australia), a hard worker volunteer.

The work in winter starts at 7 a.m. In the summer 6 a.m.
A fruit break is more than welcome around 10 a.m.

Tamar will explain a lot about the Sinai, the plants, the dream that came true.
a pomelo.

Lunch break on the spot. Eating the veges straight from the garden.
Now Avi is explaining his dream coming true.

in the sun or in the shade?
moving a tree is also part of the work.

And Tamar is conscious about the quality!
loading the truck and trailer.
